Replacing a single misted (failed) double-glazed unit is far cheaper than a whole new window, and is one of the most common jobs these firms do. Where glass sits in a "critical location" — below 800mm from the floor in a window, or below 1500mm in a door and its side panels — the Building Regulations require safety glazing (toughened or laminated), so a good firm will specify the right glass for each opening.
